In a bold, fast-paced effort, our Fort Worth video production team set out to create a spec commercial for the Doritos®️“Crash the Super Bowl” contest—a high-stakes national competition where fans submitted original advertising spots for a chance to win $1 million and air during the biggest game of the year. With just ten days left before the submission deadline, we took on the challenge to write, shoot, edit, and submit a fully produced, commercial-quality piece that could stand out among thousands of entries.

Process:

With a compressed timeline, efficiency and creativity had to go hand in hand.

Creative Video Concept:

We quickly brainstormed several bold, unexpected ideas before landing on a standout concept—a baby shower that humorously escalates into a chip-fueled rivalry between parents-to-be. The relatability of snack cravings paired with the absurdity of Dorito devotion created the perfect comedic setup for a creative video production.

Pre-Production in Fort Worth:

Once the script was locked, our team jumped into action. We cast comedic talent, sourced a film-friendly location in Fort Worth, built storyboards, prepped wardrobe and props (including an exhaustive hunt for the right Doritos®️ bags), and assembled a seasoned crew ready to move fast.

Production:

On shoot day, we transformed a local space into a soft, pastel-toned baby shower set—intentionally muted to make the vibrant chip bags pop on camera. Our camera and lighting teams worked in sync to simulate daylight despite overcast skies, delivering a polished, professional look worthy of national broadcast. Every detail—from wardrobe steaming to precise chip-crunch sound capture—was handled with care and craft.

Post-Production:

Editing focused on tight comedic timing, punchy reaction cuts, sound design, and color grading that enhanced the visual contrast between rival Doritos®️ flavors. The result was a cinematic, hilarious, and high-energy commercial piece that delivered brand storytelling with clarity and charm.

Result:

Despite the tight turnaround, the Doritos®️ spec ad was completed and submitted on time—demonstrating our ability to produce high-quality commercial video content quickly and collaboratively. The final product was:
