vote yes for prop A [fort worth]

Proposition A was a ballot initiative in Fort Worth to approve a 2% increase in the city’s hotel occupancy tax, paid by visitors staying in local hotels. The additional revenue is dedicated to funding the long-planned expansion and modernization of the Fort Worth Convention Center, aimed at boosting tourism, attracting larger conventions, and driving long-term economic growth—without impacting local property taxes.

Problem

Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, yet its convention center was falling behind in size and infrastructure compared to peer cities. Without expansion, Fort Worth risked losing out on major conferences, trade shows, and tourism dollars—critical drivers of economic development. To secure the city’s competitive edge, Proposition A was placed on the ballot: a modest 2% increase in the hotel occupancy tax paid by visitors, with all revenue directed toward expanding and modernizing the Fort Worth Convention Center.

The challenge was clear—raise awareness among voters and build broad support for the initiative. To succeed, the campaign needed to amplify credible voices, rally the business community, and highlight the long-term economic benefits of approving Prop A, all while reassuring residents that the tax would not impact local property owners. The Process

Over the course of a few weeks we fine tuned the concept and pre-production logistics. On production day, we filmed the two spots on location in Dallas, TX with a special endorsement by former Dallas mayor, Ron Kirk. With only an hour of Ron’s time, we made sure every word packed a punch!

Solution

Arcpoint Studios partnered with Together Fort Worth to lead the video production efforts for the “Vote Yes for Prop A” campaign. Recognizing that economic development messages resonate best when shared by trusted community voices, we set out to create a content strategy that was both authentic and impactful.

Our team produced eight videos showcasing a diverse coalition of advocates—business owners, entrepreneurs, and city leaders—each articulating why Prop A was vital for Fort Worth’s growth. We spent multiple days traveling across the city, conducting interviews in workplaces, local landmarks, and civic spaces, ensuring every message was rooted in the real Fort Worth experience.

The videos highlighted key themes: strengthening Fort Worth’s economy, attracting larger conventions, creating new jobs, and supporting small businesses through increased visitor traffic. By elevating a variety of perspectives—from city officials to grassroots entrepreneurs—the campaign demonstrated a united front across the community.

Result

The campaign was a resounding success. Fort Worth voters passed ‘Prop A’, securing critical funding for the expansion of the convention center and paving the way for billions in future economic impact.

The videos became the central storytelling engine of the campaign, helping unify community voices and spreading awareness across digital platforms, community meetings, and local networks. By capturing authentic testimonials and aligning them under one clear message, the content galvanized support and underscored the role of economic development in shaping Fort Worth’s future.

Beyond the win at the ballot box, the project showcased how media can activate civic engagement, foster collaboration between public and private sectors, and highlight the shared vision of a growing city. For our team, this project was especially meaningful—as a Fort Worth-based company, we were not just telling the story of economic progress, we were actively helping build it.
