time for a change
a substance abuse campaign
the project:
Our agency partner, Alpha Business Images, came to us to collaborate on producing two spots, in English and Spanish, being :30, :15, and :07 for their Substance Abuse Campaign for Dallas County with their concept called "Time for a Change." The campaign featured parallel narratives showcasing the stark contrast between active addiction and recovery, utilizing both realistic workplace scenarios and social settings. The objective was to create a powerful visual narrative that would resonate with individuals struggling with substance abuse while offering hope and concrete pathways to recovery.

BEHIND THE WORK
A lean budget. Two distinct worlds. One studio in Fort Worth. Here's how we made it happen.
01
PRE-PRODUCTION
two sets, one studio
We transformed BLANC Studios into two distinct environments: a party scene for a 20s male and a work-from-home setup for a professional in his late 30s–40s. Both sets were fully prepped the day before, with props, lighting, and visual elements locked in advance.
+ STORYBOARDING + LOCATION SOURCING + LIGHTING
Production kicked off at 8 a.m., focusing first on a corporate storyline that depicted the impact of substance abuse on professional life. Wardrobe, makeup, and set design played a crucial role in crafting a powerful before-and-after transformation—first portraying our talent in distress, then evolving into a compelling recovery narrative that highlighted resilience and renewal.
+ SET DESIGN + PROP STYLING + LIGHTING
02
SET ONE
corporate storyline
The second setup required a dramatic shift, converting the studio into an immersive party scene. The production team meticulously arranged every detail to create a sense of controlled chaos, using strategic lighting and prop placement to convey the overwhelming effects of substance abuse in social settings. To enhance the storytelling, we integrated green screen elements for phone-based interactions, seamlessly incorporating recovery resource messaging into the narrative.
+ SET DESIGN + LIGHTING + STRATEGIC LIGHTING

THE FINAL PROJECT
the result
The "Time for a Change" campaign was successfully delivered on time and on budget, fully aligning with Alpha Business Images and Dallas County's vision. The campaign is now live across broadcast, digital platforms, and community outreach channels, spreading a message of hope: recovery is possible and support is available.
The campaign's reach was expanded across English-and Spanish-speaking communities throughout Dallas County through bilingual video deliverables in :30, :15, and :07 formats.
This project demonstrates our team's capacity for strategic thinking around productions with limited resources, efficient production management, and creative approaches to visualizing social issues.
